February 9 Annual Dinner

The 40th annual dinner to be held at Port Jefferson Country Club. Election of officers and trustees, committee reports. A slide presentation of the last 40 years of the Historical Society.

May 12 - Barn, Bake and Plant Sale

Attic treasures, baked goods and garden plants in conjunction with the Suwassett Garden Club.

June 10 Collins Carriage House Dedication

A dedication ceremony and reception from 1-2:30 P.M. to celebrate the opening of the new Collins Carriage House.

June 24 Museum Opening Party

The Historical Society will hold a wine and cheese party at the museum on June 24, from 1-4 P.M. to celebrate the opening of the 2007 Exhibit, "Cotton, Wool, Canvas and Lace".

June 30 - Museum Opening

The Mather Museum opens for the season with the new exhibit, "Cotton, Wool, Canvas and Lace". The importance of textiles in Port Jefferson. Quilts and samplers, sailmaking and lacemaking and much more!

October 1 5th Annual Peter Fuhrmann Memorial Golf Outing

October 13 - The 20th Annual Country Auction

Outdoor Antiques Auction under a tent on the museum lawn (rain or shine). You'll find many unique items to choose from.

December 2 - Holiday Party

Victorian Christmas tree and decorations, toy and doll exhibit, and refreshments.
